Palo Alto is the birthplace of the semiconductor. It is the center of the technological revolution and the boom in Venture Capital. The town, and our company, is named for a tall, 1000 year old coastal redwood tree located here, and described by the Spanish explorer and General Gaspar de Portola in 1769. Stanford University is located in Palo Alto, just down University Avenue from our headquarters and imbues the area with energy and vitality that makes Palo Alto a great area to live in and invest from.
